Time is man’s greatest resource. It starts counting from dawn to dusk, from your rising till bedtime. You are only as efficient and productive as how you spend your time daily. So make every second count.

Teaching children Time Management begins with self. Children are good imitators so parents must be true reflections of what they teach.

A quick check through these questions will help parents do a self check of how they manage their day.

  • How well do you manage your time?
  • Do you have a daily organizer or a ‘To Do List’?
  • Is your list packed with too many activities?
  • Do you prioritize your daily tasks?
  • Are there items on your list you could delegate?
  • Do you often achieve all you plan to do in a day? If No, what are your likely distractions?
  • What time of the day are you most/least productive?
  • Do you often pause at intervals to do a quick check on your daily achievements?
  • Do you observe breaks during the day?
  • When do you usually go to bed?
  • How long do you typically sleep in a day?
  • What should you do differently to make your day more productive?

Parents can only teach their children effective time management if they are better managers of their own time.
